HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
