Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
