Al-Najm 3 of 3
So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
