The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two]. 1 And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic. 2 And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement. 3 There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them), 4 a Wisdom far-reaching; yet warnings do not avail. 5 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner summoneth unto a painful thing. 6 abasing their eyes, they shall come forth from the tombs as if they were scattered grasshoppers, 7 Hastening toward the summoner. The infidels will say: this is a day diffrcult. 8 ۞ Before them Noah's people also gave the lie (to his Message). They rejected Our servant as a liar, saying: “He is a madman”; and he was rebuffed. 9 Thereupon he prayed unto his Lord: verily am overcome, so vindicate me. 10 And We opened up the flood gates of the sky with water pouring down in torrents, 11 And We made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a measure already ordained. 12 We carried him, (Noah), on a vessel built with boards fixed together with nails, 13 She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)! 14 And We have left this as a Sign (for all time): then is there any that will receive admonition? 15 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 16 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 17 (The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings. 18 On an unfortunate day We sent upon them a continuous violent wind 19 Sweeping men away as though they were uprooted trunks of palm-trees. 20 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 21 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 22
