The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
The Hour of Doom is drawing near and the moon is rent asunder. 1 But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic." 2 They also gave the lie to (the splitting asunder of the moon) and only followed their desires. Yet everything is destined to reach an end. 3 And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - 4 Wisdom consummate. But warnings avail not. 5 turn thou away from them. On the Day when the Summoning Voice will summon [man] unto something that the mind cannot conceive, 6 their eyes will be humbled as they come out from their graves as if they were scattered locusts, 7 Rushing towards the caller; the disbelievers will say, “This is a tough day.” 8 ۞ The people of Nuh (Noah) denied (their Messenger) before them, they rejected Our slave, and said: "A madman!" and he was insolently rebuked and threatened. 9 So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help." 10 So We opened the gates of the sky with water pouring down in torrents, 11 And caused springs to gush out from the earth, so that the two waters met totalling a quantity that had been destined. 12 We carried him, (Noah), on a vessel built with boards fixed together with nails, 13 That ran (upon the waters) in Our sight, as a reward for him who was rejected. 14 We have left this as a sign: but will anyone take heed? 15 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 16 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 17 'Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 18 Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity. 19 it swept the people away as though they were palm-trunks uprooted: 20 How was then My punishment and My commination! 21 We have made the Qur'an easy to derive lessons from. Is there, then, any who will take heed? 22
