The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 they said, "Are we to follow a man from amongst ourselves? We would surely then fall into error and madness. 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. 27 Tell them that the water is to be divided between them, a drink each for them in turn' 28 But they call their comrade and he took and hamstrung (her). 29 How [terrible] were My punishment and My warnings! 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, 34 As a favour from Us. Thus We recompense him who giveth thanks. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 And indeed, abiding suffering did befall them early on the morrow: 38 So taste My chastisement and My warning. 39 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 40
