Samood rejected the warning. 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 "Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent one!" 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 “We shall send a she-camel to test them, therefore O Saleh, wait and have patience.” 27 Let them know that the water should be divided between them and the she-camel, each availing their turn.” 28 They called together their companions and agreed to slay the she-camel. 29 So how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 30 For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 32 The folk of Lot rejected warnings. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 through Our Mercy. So it is that We recompense the thankful. 35 Surely Lot warned his people that We shall seize them (with Our chastisement), but they doubted the warnings. 36 And certainly they endeavored to turn him from his guests, but We blinded their eyes; so taste My chastisement and My warning. 37 And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning. 38 "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 39 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 40
