(The tribe of) Thamud rejected warnings 23 They said, "Should we follow only one person among us. We shall be clearly in error and in trouble (if we do so). 24 "Is it that the Reminder is sent to him [Prophet Salih (Saleh)] alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!" 25 Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! 26 Lo! We are sending the she-camel as a test for them; so watch them and have patience; 27 “And inform them that the water is to be shared between them; only those may come whose turn it is.” 28 Then they called their comrade, and he took in hand, and hamstrung her. 29 How was then My punishment of which they had been warned? 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition: is there then any one who would be admonished. 32 The people of Lot cried lies to the warnings. 33 We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- 34 A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. 35 He had warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warnings. 36 They even asked of him his guests for an ill purpose. Then We blinded their eyes (and said): Taste now My punishment after My warnings! 37 Indeed an abiding chastisement came upon them in the morning. 38 We said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 39 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 40
