The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He hath created man. 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
