The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 Created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
