The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He has created man: 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
