The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
