The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
