The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created the human being 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
