The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
