The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
