The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 has created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
