The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created the human 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
