The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created the human being 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
