The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
