The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created the human being 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
