▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
But such as fears the Station of his Lord, for them shall be two gardens -- 46 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 47 full of various trees. 48 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 49 In both of them, there are two springs flowing. 50 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 51 In which are fruits of all kinds, each of two varieties. 52 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 53 [They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low. 54 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 55 Therein are those of modest gaze, whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them. 56 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 57 (In beauty) they are like rubies and coral. 58 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 59 What is the reward of virtue except virtue (in return)? 60 Which of the laudable attributes of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 61 And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,- 62 jinn and mankind - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny 63 Dark green with foliage. 64 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 65 With two fountains gushing constantly, -- 66 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 67 In them (both) will be fruits, and date- palms and pomegranates. 68 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 69 In them are women of good behaviour and gorgeous faces. 70 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? -- 71 houris, cloistered in cool pavilions -- 72 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - 73 Whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;- 74 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 75 [In such a paradise will they dwell,] reclining upon meadows green and carpets rich in beauty. 76 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 77 HALLOWED be thy Sustainer's name, full of majesty and glory! 78
