The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 there is no denying its coming 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And there shall be such as will have lost themselves in evil: oh, how [unhappy] will be they who have lost themselves in evil! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 And shade extended 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For those on the right. 38

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
