The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And those on the left how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And wide eyed houris 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 And made them virgins. 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
