The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 And extended shade, 30 and flowing water 31 And fruit abundant. 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
