The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining face to face. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches; 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
