The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of later ages, 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 And extended shade, 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 So made them as maidens. 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 for the people of the right hand 38
