The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 For those of the right hand. 38
