The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and continuous shade, 30 and flowing water 31 And fruits numberless, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 and upraised couches. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
