The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 on lavish couches 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And clustered plantains, 29 And spreading shade, 30 And water everflowing. 31 And abundant fruit, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 on raised couches. 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 For those on the right hand; 38
