The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On studded thrones. 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and continuous shade, 30 near to flowing water 31 and abundant fruit, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And exalted thrones. 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For those on the right. 38
