The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 and extended shade, 30 near to flowing water 31 And abundant fruit, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
