The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 Who will be honoured 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few from the latter. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 And spreading shade, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits abounding 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And exalted thrones. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
