The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 facing one another. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The Companions of the Right 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 And clustered plantains, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and flowing water, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 and made them virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For those of the right hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
