The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and banana trees, 29 and shade extended, 30 and waters gushing, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins. 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
