The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 You will become three categories: 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few from the latter. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 like hidden pearls, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and flowing water 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 full of love, well-matched 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
