The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and spreading shade 30 and gushing water, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38
