A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 and a good many of later times. 40 The Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 41 In scorching wind and boiling hot water. 42 and the shadow of a smoking blaze 43 (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, 44 They were endowed with good things 45 And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murders and other crimes, etc.) 46 And said: "What! When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised again? 47 (We) and our fore-fathers of yore?” 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all – the former and the latter.” 49 will indeed be gathered together at an appointed time on a Day known [only to God]: 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 shall all eat from the Tree of al-Zaqqum, 52 and will have to fill your bellies therewith, 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 Lapping it up like female camels raging of thirst with disease." 55 Such shall be your hospitality on the Day of Recompense. 56 We have created you, why do you not then assent? 57 Just consider (the semen) that you emit, 58 Do you make a human out of it, or is it We Who create? 59 We! it is We Who have decreed death unto you all. And We are not to be outrun. 60 in replacing you with another creation like you, changing you into a form which you do not know. 61 And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? 62 See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground? 63 Is it you who cause it to grow - or are We the cause of its growth? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 “We have been penalised; 66 Rather, we have been prevented' 67 Have you ever considered the water which you drink? 68 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder? 69 Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? 70 Consider the fire that you strike (and get by friction). 71 Is it you that originated its tree, or are We the Originator? 72 We have made it a reminder, and a blessing to the traveler. 73 Extol, then, the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 74
