A numerous company from among the first, 39 And a company of the later peoples. 40 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 and the shadow of a smoking blaze 43 [shadows] neither cooling nor soothing. 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 And they have been persisting in the heinous offence. 46 And they used to say: When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again, 47 "(We) and our fathers of old?" 48 Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples 49 will be brought together for an appointment on an appointed day. 50 Then you people who had gone astray and rejected the Truth 51 you will indeed have to taste of the tree of deadly fruit, 52 And fill (your) bellies with it; 53 And drink over it scalding water, 54 And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels. 55 This is their reception on the Day of Justice. 56 We! it is We Who created you: wherefore confess ye not? 57 Have ye seen that which ye emit? 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated 60 from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 Have you seen what you sow? 63 Is it you that cause it to grow, or are We the causers of growth? 64 We could turn it, if We pleased, into straw; then you would rue the day, 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 Indeed, we have been deprived of the fruits of our labour." 67 And have you seen the water that you drink? 68 Is it you who caused it to descend from the cloud, or is it We Who cause it to descend? 69 If We will, We would make it bitter, why then do you not give thanks? 70 Have you thought about the fire you kindle? 71 Did you make its tree grow or was it We Who made it grow? 72 We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts. 73 Glorify, then, (O Prophet), the name of your Great Lord. 74

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
