Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A large group from the earlier generations. 39 And a numerous company from among the last. 40 And the fellows on the left hand; how miserable shall the fellows on the left hand be! 41 In hot wind and boiling water, 42 And the shade of black smoke. 43 which will neither be cool nor soothing. 44 Indeed they were among favours before this. 45 But persisted in that greater sin, 46 And they used to say: When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again, 47 "And also our forefathers?" 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all – the former and the latter.” 49 Shall most surely be gathered together for the appointed hour of a known day. 50 Then you, the erring and the deniers, 51 You will indeed eat from the Zaqqum tree. 52 and fill your bellies with it, 53 and drink on top of that boiling water 54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 55 That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Have you thought about [the semen] that you discharge -- 58 Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator? 59 It was We who decreed death among you. We will not be surpassed 60 from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. 61 You have known the first growth; so why will you not remember? 62 Ponder upon the soil you till, 63 Is it you who cultivate it, or is it We Who develop it? 64 If We so wished, We could have reduced your harvest to rubble, and you would have been left wonder-struck to exclaim: 65 Lo! we are laden with debt! 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 Tell Me! The water that you drink. 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds or We? 69 We could make it brackish, if We pleased; so why do you not acknowledge thanks? 70 Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, 71 Is it you who grew its tree, or is it We Who create? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 Then, exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
