A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 And those on the left hand: What of those on the left hand? 41 They will find themselves in scorching wind and scalding water, 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 Lo! heretofore they were effete with luxury 45 And used to persist in the awful sin. 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 48 Say thou: verily the ancients and those of later generations: 49 Shall most surely be gathered together for the appointed hour of a known day. 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 shall all eat from the Tree of al-Zaqqum, 52 filling your bellies with it; 53 And drinking on top of it from scalding water 54 Drinkers even as the drinking of thirsty camels. 55 This shall be their hospitality on the Day of Doom. 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 Just consider the semen that you emit, 58 Do you make a human out of it, or is it We Who create? 59 It is We who have ordained death for all of you; and We cannot be prevented 60 From replacing you with others or raising you in a way you do not know. 61 You are well aware of the first creation; then, do you learn no lesson from it? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 Is it ye who foster it, or are We the Fosterer? 64 If We pleased, We should have certainly made it broken down into pieces, then would you begin to lament: 65 (Saying): "We are indeed Mughramun (i.e. ruined or lost the money without any profit, or punished by the loss of all that we spend for cultivation, etc.)! [See Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 17, Page 219] 66 "In fact, we were unfortunate!" 67 Have ye observed the water which ye drink? 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? 69 Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? 70 So what is your opinion regarding the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who have brought into being the tree that serves as its fuel - or are We the cause of its coming into being? 72 We Ourselves made it for a reminder, and a boon to the desert-dwellers. 73 Therefore proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 74

ColorfulQuran.com uses an English translation algorithm that combines several translations on one page. It randomly loads a different translation for each verse with equal probabilities. Each page places a combination of translators from varied cultures, sects, times, countries, cities, and backgrounds together in one room, reflecting unity in diversity, an essential feature of Islam. Translators can be Sunnis, Shiites, men, women, Muslims by birth, converts, ancient, or contemporary. There are also valid translations by non-Muslim translators. The list of translators is available at the end of each page. Click or tap the page number to reload a different combination. ColorfulQuran.com does not endorse or prefer any particular translation over another and displays it only for information.
The beginning and end of every Surah mention the Surahs sent down before and after. You can click or tap on either one to go there. Using this feature in ColorfulQuran.com, you can easily read the Surahs according to the order of their revelation from The Embryo (Al-Alaq) to The Victory (An-Nasr), which is different from their positional order in the Holy Book from The Key (Al-Fatihah) to The People (An-Nas).
