۞ I do not need to swear by the setting of the stars 75 (and that is indeed a mighty oath, did you but know it) 76 That it is a Recitation honourable. 77 In a book that is protected 78 Which none shall touch but those who are clean: 79 (This Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 80 Would you, now, look down with disdain on a tiding like this, 81 And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, on the contrary, you deny Him (by disbelief)! 82 Why, but when the soul leaps to the throat of the dying 83 And you wait for the moment (of death), 84 And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see - 85 why, then, if [you think that] you are not truly dependent [on Us,] 86 That you bring it back, if you are truthful? 87 Then if he be of the broughtnigh. 88 Then breath of life, and plenty, and a Garden of delight. 89 And if he is one of those on the right hand, 90 Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for (you as you are from) those on the Right Hand. 91 But if he is of the rejecters, the erring, 92 Then for him is entertainment with boiling water. 93 and the heat of hell fire. 94 This is indeed an utmost certainty. 95 So celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme. 96
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah). Sent down in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
