۞ NAY, I call to witness the coming-down in parts [of this Qur'an] 75 And that is indeed a tremendous oath, if you understand. 76 That this is indeed the glorious Qur'an 77 Kept in a secure Book. 78 Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels). 79 a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 80 Do you then hold this announcement in contempt? 81 And make denial thereof your livelihood? 82 Then how is it that when the (dying) breath is withdrawn into the throat (and rattles), 83 the while you are helplessly watching that he is on the verge of death, 84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] 85 why, then, if [you think that] you are not truly dependent [on Us,] 86 That you bring it back, if you are truthful? 87 Then if he is one of those drawn nigh (to Allah), 88 there shall be calmness and ease, a Garden of Delight. 89 and if he is of those who are on the Right, 90 he will be greeted with, "Peace be to you," by those on the Right. 91 But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism), 92 Then an entertainment of boiling water. 93 And roasting in a Blaze. 94 Most surely this is a certain truth. 95 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme. 96
