Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ I swear by the setting of the stars 75 And that is indeed a tremendous oath, if you understand. 76 That (this) is indeed a noble Qur'an 77 Kept in a secure Book. 78 none but the purified shall touch, 79 A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. 80 Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent 81 And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, on the contrary, you deny Him (by disbelief)! 82 Wherefore then - when the soul cometh up to the wind-pipe 83 And ye the while (sit) looking on,- 84 And We are nigher unto him than ye are, but ye behold not 85 Why then, if ye are not in bondage (unto Us), 86 do you not bring back his soul, if you speak truly? 87 Then if he be of the broughtnigh. 88 then happiness and delight and Gardens of Bliss are his. 89 And if he was of the companions of the right, 90 [he, too, will be welcomed into paradise with the words,] "Peace be unto thee [that art] of those who have attained to righteousness!" 91 If it is of those who have rejected the Truth and have gone astray, 92 Then for him is entertainment with boiling water. 93 And roasting at hell-fire. 94 Most surely this is a certain truth. 95 Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
