۞ But nay! I swear by the falling of stars; 75 and that is a mighty oath, if you but knew 76 that this is an honorable Quran 77 In Book well-guarded, 78 which none but the pure [of heart] can touch: 79 a sending down from the Lord of all Being. 80 Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem, 81 And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false? 82 Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat 83 the while you are [helplessly] looking on 84 and while We are closer to him than you, although you see [Us] not: 85 why then, if you are not revived, 86 do you not cause the soul to return to him if you are truthful in your claim? 87 Then if he be of the broughtnigh. 88 There will be peace and plenty, and gardens of tranquility for him. 89 And if he is one of the People on the Right, 90 Then: peace unto thee, for thou art of those on the right hand. 91 And if he be of those who treat (Truth) as Falsehood, who go wrong, 92 then he will be served boiling water, 93 And burning in hell. 94 Surely this is the truth of certainty. 95 Then praise your Lord, the most supreme. 96
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah). Sent down in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
