▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ No! I swear by the positions of the stars – 75 and, indeed, that is a most mighty oath, if you only knew -- 76 that this indeed is a noble Qur'an, 77 In a Book well-guarded (with Allah in the heaven i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 78 which none but the pure may touch; 79 a sending down from the Lord of all Being. 80 So is this the matter regarding which you laze? 81 and do you make it your living to cry lies? 82 Why, then, when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 83 And ye are then looking on. 84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] 85 Then why do you not, if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment, etc.) 86 why can you not bring it (the soul) back (to life)? 87 (If a dying soul) is of those near to God, 88 then for him there shall be comfort and plenty and a Garden of Bliss; 89 If he is a Companion of the Right 90 he will be greeted with, "Peace be to you," by those on the Right. 91 But if he is of the rejecters, the erring, 92 Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water 93 and will be scorched by the Fire. 94 Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty. 95 Then praise your Lord, the most supreme. 96
