▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ I swear by the fallings of the stars 75 And most surely it is a very great oath if you only knew; 76 Behold, it is a truly noble discourse, 77 in a hidden Book 78 Which none can touch except the purified. 79 (This Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 80 How can you regard this discourse with disdain? 81 And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false? 82 Why, then, when the soul leaps up to the throat of the dying 83 and you are [at that moment] looking on [helplessly] -- 84 And We are nearer to him than you are, but you cannot see. 85 why, if you are not at Our disposal, 86 That you send it (not) back-- if you are truthful? 87 [ALL OF YOU are destined to die.] Now if one happens to be of those who are drawn close unto God, 88 there shall be repose and ease, and a Garden of Delight; 89 If he is a Companion of the Right 90 [he, too, will be welcomed into paradise with the words,] "Peace be unto thee [that art] of those who have attained to righteousness!" 91 And if he is one of those who give the lie (to this Message) and go astray, 92 then he will be served boiling water, 93 and the heat of a blazing fire! 94 Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty. 95 So exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
