Tell them: "O people of the Book, let us come to an agreement on that which is common between us, that we worship no one but God, and make none His compeer, and that none of us take any others for lord apart from God." If they turn away you tell them: "Bear witness that we submit to Him." 64 O people of the Book, why dispute about Abraham? The Torah and the Gospel were sent down after him: Do you not understand? 65 Indeed, you have disputed about that which you have knowledge. Why then dispute about that of which you have no knowledge? Allah knows and you do not know. 66 Abraham was not a Jew, nor yet a Christian; but he was an upright man who had surrendered (to Allah), and he was not of the idolaters. 67 Surely, the people who are closest to Abraham are those who followed him and this Prophet [Muhammad], and those who believe in him. God is the guardian of the believers. 68 Some among the people of the Book wish to lead you astray, yet they lead none astray but themselves, though they do not realise. 69 O followers of the Book! Why do you disbelieve in the communications of Allah while you witness (them)? 70 O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): "Why do you mix truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know?" 71
