Say: 'People of the Book! Come to a word common between us and you: that we shall serve none but Allah and shall associate none with Him in His divinity and that some of us will not take others as lords beside Allah.' And if they turn their backs (from accepting this call), tell them: 'Bear witness that we are the ones who have submitted ourselves exclusively to Allah.' 64 People of the Book, why do you dispute about Abraham when both the Torah and the Gospel were not sent down till after him? Have you no sense? 65 You even argue about what is already known to you. What can you learn from arguing about that which you have no knowledge? God knows but you do not know." 66 Ibrahim (Abraham) was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a true Muslim Hanifa (Islamic Monotheism - to worship none but Allah Alone) and he was not of Al-Mushrikun (See V. 2:105). 67 Verily, among mankind who have the best claim to Ibrahim (Abraham) are those who followed him, and this Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and those who have believed (Muslims). And Allah is the Wali (Protector and Helper) of the believers. 68 A group among the People of the Book would love to mislead you but they mislead no one but themselves. However, they do not realize it. 69 O followers of earlier revelation! Why do you deny the truth of God's messages to which you yourselves bear witness? 70 People of the Book! Why do you confound the truth with vanity, and conceal the truth and that wittingly? 71
