Tell them: "O people of the Book, let us come to an agreement on that which is common between us, that we worship no one but God, and make none His compeer, and that none of us take any others for lord apart from God." If they turn away you tell them: "Bear witness that we submit to Him." 64 People of the Book! Why do you dispute with us about Abraham even though the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after the time of Abraham? Do you not understand? 65 Indeed, you have disputed about that which you have knowledge. Why then dispute about that of which you have no knowledge? Allah knows and you do not know. 66 Ibrahim was neither a Jew nor a Christian; but he was a Muslim, free from all falsehood; and was not of the polytheists. 67 Surely the people standing closest to Abraham are those who followed him, and this Prophet, and those who believe; and God is the Protector of the believers. 68 Some among the people of the Book wish to lead you astray, yet they lead none astray but themselves, though they do not realise. 69 O people of the Book, why do you disbelieve the signs of God having witnessed them yourselves? 70 People of the Book! Why do you confound the truth with vanity, and conceal the truth and that wittingly? 71
